Don’t Ask Why

Clinging desperately

All the night long

Are we all right?

Are we all wrong?

Are we even playing the same song?

Your whispers are low

A lone wandering tear

You don’t want to lose me

Your love is quite clear

How come these aren’t the words that I hear

It’s like I’m deaf

Or hidden or blind

Between us a wall

That your words can’t climb

I refuse them, rebuke them as if they aren’t mine

I don’t want to lose you

The words ghost your lips

As if they’re brand new

I cling to their grips

As reality of everything I’ve missed through me rips

You’re mine, I’m yours

There’s no way to deny

So come to our bed

No more asking why

Let’s twist and tangle till one of us dies
